Coming from Houston, Texas, Destiny's Child is one of the best-selling female groups in the world.  Destiny's Child has sold more than 15 million albums and singles worldwide.  The Writing's On The Wall, the groups sophomore album has sold more than 9 million copies worldwide.  

Released on July 27, 1999, The Writing's On The Wall was certified 7x platinum by the RIAA as of February 26, 2001.  It also debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200 Album chart.  Nine months after its release, the album was #5 on the chart, having just experienced its best sales week ever. 

More than a year after the albums release, The Writing's On The Wall was still in the top 20 (#11) selling upwards of 70,000 units per week.  In the first year of it's release, The Writing's On The Wall spent 47 out of 52 weeks in the top forty or better of the Billboard 200 Album chart.

Destiny's Child was awarded the coveted NAACP Image Award in the Outstanding Duo or Group category for The Writing's On The Wall.

Led by founding members Beyonce Knowles and Kelly Rowland, Destiny's Child came on to the music scene in 1997 with the multi-platinum #1 single, "No, No, No," from their self-title debut album.  Michelle Williams joined the group in February 2000." Destiny's Child were presented the prestigious Sammy Davis, Jr. Award for Entertainment Of The Year at the Soul Train Awards ceremony on February 28, 2001.

"Say My Name" earned Destiny's Child the NAACP Image Award of Outstanding Duo or Group presented on March 1, 2001.
