and phrases that swimmers and coaches use that aren't familiar to other
people who are not swimmers. Here are some.

A fifty (50) |
A fifty is two laps. Up and Back. |
| A hundred (100) | A hundred is four laps. |
| A 200 swim | A 200 swim means you do a 200 regular swimming |
| A 200 kick or pool | A 200 kick or pool is when you do a 200 just kicking . A 200 pool is when you do a 200 just with your arms and a pool buoy. |
| Test Sets | A test set is when you do a certain set sprinting. The times will be recorded like a test. |
| Taper | Tapering is when you relax or rest for a big meet coming up. You usually have easier practices and eat less junk food. It is a good way to get ready for a big meet. |
| An IM | An IM is an Individual Medley. It consists of all four strokes. They are swam in this order: Backstroke, Butterfly, Breaststroke, and Freestyle. |
