The following things are some items that are helpful in maintaining a bass. Some are mandatory in being able to play the bass, some are not.

1. Sharpie- An essential for marking things.
2. Bass or thumb picks- You only need these if you play with a pick.
3. Maglite- Incase you need to repair something in the dark.
4. Leatherman tool- The ultimate bass repair tool. I saw these at Dicks in the hunting department.
5. Strings- Keep some spares in case yours break.
6. 9 volt Energizer Battery- you only need this if your bass has active electronics.
