Red Pandas  
The mating season is from January to March. The gestation period for Red Pandas is anywhere from 90-150 days. In each litter there is between 1 and 4 cubs born. When born the cubs are completely blind. Their eyes open on the eighteenth day. By day 90 they cubs are ready to leave the nest for good. Studies have shown that red pandas that eat more bamboo are more likely to stay with their parents for up to a year. 

 
Giant Panda 

The mating season is in spring. The mothers has one or two babies in autumn. When born the Giant Pandas eyes are closed. At about 6-8 weeks they will open their eyes. Giant Pandas nurse for anywhere between 12 and 14 hours a day. By 7-8 months of age the baby panda can start to eat soft piece of bamboo, until the permanent teeth appear at 1 year. By the age 18 months the baby panda is ready to leaves in mother. The Giant Panda will not start a family of its own until it is about four years old.
