    Born in 1929, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was one of the most beloved and recognized leaders of all time.  Among being a devoted father and husband he was an author, civil rights leader, and minister.  Through non- violent protest he fought a battle to free black slaves all through out the nation.

    Martin was born January 15 in Atlanta Georgia.  He was the middle child birthed to Reverend Martian Luther King, and Alberta King.  He seemed to always have a desire to learn.  He was an excellent student who at the age of 15 went to collage, to continue his learning.  Through it all he became a minister and doctor two major accomplishments. He got his degree in sociology from More house college in Atlanta his home town.

    In 1953 he married Coretta Scott and had four children Yolanda, Martian the 3rd., Dexter, and Bernie.  Shortly after he became the pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church.  In December of 1955 a black women named Rosa Parks rode the bus home,  in that time blacks were to give up there seat if a white man or women wanted it.  Rosa had a hard days work and was very tired she refused to give up her seat to a white man she was imprisoned.  Rev Martin Luther King organized the MIA ( Momgomery Improvement Association) He advised blacks not to ride the busses.  For over a year, they boycotted the busses and picketed white busses.

    Martin believed in a non-violence approach to segregation.  He was and still is one of the most beloved civil right leaders of all time.
