Rules and cautions are a very important. A good rule to follow would be to always warm up before performing gymnastics. Loosen your muscles by doing leg stretches, neck rolls, arm circles and back bends. It helps also to roll out your wrists and ankles. The pictures to the left consist of a back bend and a straddle. |

| Another important rule is never try to perform a trick your not sure you can do, even if it looks easy. Make sure your instructor and you both feel confident that you can to the trick before you try it. |
