Ollie And Flip Tricks |
Ollie- An ollie is the first trick anyone should learn. It is the trick that all others branch off of. You should have your back foot on the tail and your front foot in the middle of the board. Start by smacking your tail off the ground as hard as u can and slide your front foot up. This should get the board off the ground. Now you have to lift your back leg to even on and get ready for the landing. land by extending your legs evenly and ride away. |
Kickflip- A Kickflip is when the board spins all the way around like a barrel roll. Put your feet in the ollie position with you front foot slightly tilted some people put their foot at a 45 degree angle. When you pop the tail instead of sliding your foot up, kick it out to the slide in a flicking motion. This will cause the board to spin around. When you see the board come around extend you legs and land it, this is the hardest step to nail. Kickflips are hard to get, but keep practicing and it will come. |

Heelflip- A heel flip is like a kickflip only it spins in the opposite direction. Put your front foot in the middle of the board at a slight angle with you toes hanging off a little. When you pop the tail, flick the nose with your heel when you slide it up. After this its the same as a kickflip. Bring you front leg back in time to land. Keep you balance and ride away. |
Shove It- A shove it or pop-shove it is when the board does a 180 degree turn but your body stays normal. This is probably the easiest trick to learn. Put your feet in the ollie position and when you ollie kick your back foot behind you to spin the board. You may have to move your body to one side if it doesn't stay underneath you. to land just slam it down once you get above it and ride away. |
| Grinds And Slides | |
Boardslide- A boardslide is the first and easiest grind/slide mostly everyone learns. You ride up the the rail or ledge pretty close (what side you come on depends on which way you ride). Now give the tail a little pop and turn 45 degrees onto the object. You Should have your feet around the front and back truck bolts. Don't lean back too much or your board will shoot out and you will fall backwards. When you get to the end just turn your body a little to get off and be ready to ride away. |
50-50- Ride very close to the object you want to grind and when you're ready do an ollie and straighten out over the object and then you get on it lean forward or else you move. You cant stay on for ever so to get off pick the front of you board up and turn off. Try not to hit you tail off the ledge or rail when you get off. |
Noseslide- Ride up to the object with your foot somewhere around the front truck bolts. When you're ready pop a little ollie and turn onto it locking you nose on. You may have to lean forward or back to get started but sliding is pretty easy. When your ready to come off turn just a little towards the way you want to come off and you should be able to slide off easy. |
5-0- To do a 5-0 grind come onto it life a 50-50 but when you get on lean back so your back truck is the only one on. You should be able to keep balanced for a little. Getting off is easy because you already lifting up so just turn your body and be ready to roll away. |
