The Forward's purpose is to score the goals. They try to get open to receive a pass from the offense and go to goal. They should have an accurate kick to score goals and good footwork to beat the opponent's defense.

The Midfield's purpose is to receive the ball from the defense and give it to the forwards to score a goal. The midfield does most of the running and dribbling. They may also go to goal if the opportunity is open.

The Outside Defender's purpose is to clear the ball so the team can't score or to get the ball to the midfield to take up field.

The Stopper's purpose is to stop the opponent from getting farther up field. They need to be physical so they can steal the ball or stop the play. They work with both the midfield and defense.

The Sweeper's purpose is to prevent the opponent from shooting. The goalie relies on the sweeper for this reason. The sweeper has the most pressure on them next to the goalie. They also have to be physical in order to stop the opponent.

The Goalie's purpose is to save the shots the other team takes. The goalie is the player with the most pressure because if the opponent beats everyone on the field, it is up to them to prevent the opponent from scoring.
