The Terra Nova Achievement Test, which is a series of norm-referenced, objective-based tests for students in grades 1-7, are designed to measure achievement in those basic academic skills most commonly found in curriculae across the country.
Because these tests are also criterion-referenced, they provide pertinent information about the relative ranking of students against a norm group. Specific information about instructional needs of students and potential problem areas in the curriculum is also provided.
This table indicates national percentiles from two recent years by grade level and total subject area. The third grade scores are not available because the Pennsylvania State School Assessments were given for the first time in the 2003-2004 school year.
