Officer Jim Modrak
School Resource Officer
Officer Jim Modrak is a full-time member of the Bethel Park Police Department, who serves as the school district's School Resource Officer, a position he has held since the 2002-2003 school year.
Officer Modrak is stationed primarily at the Senior High School and Independence Middle School, but he can be found in all Bethel Park schools during the school year as needed.
As School Resource Officer, Officer Modrak assists with school security and law enforcement issues. Additionally he participates in educational programs throughout the district, such as underage drinking, retail theft, safe driving education and substance abuse.
Besides helping to keep our schools safe, Officer Modrak also serves as a positive role model for students, as he develops a rapport with them and helps to open the lines of communication between students and administration and law enforcement.
During the school year, Officer Modrak is in Bethel Park schools Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3 PM.
If you have questions or need to speak with him, even if school is not in session, you can contact him in two ways:
- 412-854-8730. This is his personal voice mail that rings in his office in Building #4 of the High School. He checks his voice mail regularly, even when school is not in session, so please feel free to leave a message for him there and he will get back to you as soon as possible.
- Via email at modrak.jim@bpsd.org.
We thank Officer Modrak for his assistance as well as his positive influence in our schools!
