Physical Fitness Class

The goal of the fitness program is to provide the students with the knowledge and opportunity to improve and/or maintain their overall fitness level.  The fitness classes meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Two-thirds of the student's final grade is based on the fitness class.  These classes emphasize the development of those factors identified with health-related fitness.  There may be as many as five fitness classes offered each period.  Within each of the fitness classes, students will work on improving their level of cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, muscular endurance, muscular strength and body composition.

* All sophomores are assigned to fitness swimming.

  Activity Class

* All freshmen are required to pass nine weeks of basic swimming instruction.

  Adapted Physical Education Component

Students that are temporarily unable to participate in the regular physical education program due to a medical excuse, may be assigned an adapted activity.
